a-Real historically documented Horoscopes from Antiquity – Each presentation is restricted to one specific Horoscope – The Trial starts with the first horoscope – the only Approved language is English – if the concrete horoscope is in Greek or Latin it has to be presented in the Original plus Translation – then in the discussion after the presentation Contributions are only allowed as follows:
– first about wether the concrete horoscope is without doubt historically valid and wether the translation is correct
– second what specific elements in the concrete horoscope prove the use of WSH –
b-horoscopes constructed for teaching purposes in ancient sources – the same rules apply – this b-part starts, when all relevant historical horoscopes from the a-part have been presented
c-historical texts talking about using houses/places in astrological delineation proving without reasonable doubt that the text talks about WSH – this c-part starts, when all relevant historical horoscopes have been presented

Ein hochrangiger Kommentar aus dem Akademischen Forschungsfeld „Geschichte der Astrologie in der Antike“ in Deutschland (Februar 2023) zu dem Artikel von Dr. Martin Gansten bei Brill- „….Aufsatz von Martin Gansten vom 6. Januar 2023 überflogen und gesehen, daß er philologisch sauber und argumentativ plausibel vorgeht. Vettius Valens hat den Vorteil, daß er sowohl theoretisches Handbuchwissen vermittelt als auch die praktische Seite genau beherrscht und demonstriert. Der Schußsatz des Firmicus dürfte die Essenz darstellen: zunächst grob Häuser = Zeichen rechnen und dann in heiklen Fällen in einer genauen Abgrenzung der Häusergrenzen. Daß die einzelnen Grade der Tierkreiszeichen, besonders deren „neuralgische Punkte“, in der Lehre eine beträchtliche Rolle gespielt haben, beweisen die Texte des Manilius und Firmicus und andere zur Genüge. Wenig bekannt sind hier die erstaunlichen Spekulationen des Teukros von Babylon, wahrscheinlich stammend aus dem ägyptischen Gau namens Babylon, heute Altkairo.“
Die historische Quellenlage könnte auch alternativ zu Prof. Heilen die folgende Arbeitshypothese rechtfertigen: „Es gibt kein einziges historisches Dokument aus der Antike, das die Verwendung von Ganzzeichenhäusern geschichtswissenschaftlich belegt, weshalb es vertretbar ist, von der Nichtexistenz von Ganzzeichenhäusern in der antiken astrologischen Praxis auszugehen“. Ein hochrangiger Kommentar aus dem Akademischen Forschungsfeld „Geschichte der Astrologie in der Antike“ in Deutschland (Februar 2023) dazu: „… Das finde ich zu apodiktisch und weit über das Ziel hinausgeschossen. Was die Praxis angeht, würden sich sicher, wenn Sie die imponierende Horoskopsammlung von St. Heilen durchgehen, einige Stellen finden wo Zodiak und Häuser grosso modo in eins gesetzt werden. Auf seiten der Theorie ist dieses Verfahren jedenfalls gang und gäbe. Vgl. Heph.1,1,3 bezeichnet den Widder als „kephale tou kosmou“, was sich auf die Stellung im „mesouranema“ des „thema mundi“ bezieht, in diesem Fall gleichgesetzt mit der mundanen Melothesie, vgl. W. Hübner: Körper und Kosmos. Zur Ikonographie der zodiakalen Melothesie, Wiesbaden 2013 (Gratia. Tübinger Schriften zur Renaissanceforschung und Kulturwissenschaft. 49, hrsg. Joachim Knape, Reinhold F. Glei, Ulrich Pfisterer). – Rhetorios benutzt an dieser Stelle den Terminus für die obere Kulmination, erweitert zum zehnten Haus („mesuranema“). Inwieweit dies letztlich schon auf das Lehrgedicht des Dorotheos zurückgeht, müssen neue Untersuchungen oder neue Funde zeigen., vgl. hierzu: W. Hübner: Disiecti membra poetae. Neue Spuren des astrologischen Lehrdichters Dorotheos von Sidon, Stuttgart 2021 (Palingenesia. 127), besonders 21f. mit Tabelle. – In der Katarchenhoroskopie setzte man bedenkenlos die vier kardinalen Häuser mit ganzen Tierkreiszeichen gleich (die übrigen Häuser traten nur subsidiär hinzu), vgl. W. Hübner: Raum, Zeit und soziales Rollenspiel der vier Kardinalpunkte in der antiken Katarchenhorokopie, München 2003 (Beiträge zur Altertumskunde. 194). – In ganzen kann man mit den neuen digitalen Hilfsmitteln die antiken Daten zwar sehr gut überprüfen, aber um ihr Zustandekommen zu erklären, muß man sich auf die antiken Methoden der Datenerhebung einlassen, und deren „mythische Denkweise“ bevorzugt eben spekulative Gleichsetzungen, vgl. E. Cassirer: Die Begriffsform im mythischen Denken, Leipzig-Berlin 1922 (Studien der Bibliothek Warburg. 1; Ndr. in: Wesen und Wirkung des Symbolbegriffs, erste Auflage Darmstadt 1956; achte Auflage Darmstadt 1994=1998). – Und umfassender: E. Cassirer: Philosophie der symbolischen Formen II: Das mythische Denken, Berlin 1925 (sechste Auflage Darmstadt 1973).“ – Die Arbeitshypothese muß also umformuliert werden: „Es gibt kein einziges historisches Dokument aus der Antike, das die vorrangige und systematisch bevorzugte Verwendung von Ganzzeichenhäusern geschichtswissenschaftlich belegt oder die Annahme einer bevorzugten Verwendung eines diesbezüglichen Ganzzeichen-Häuser-System in der antiken astrologischen Praxis rechtfertigen würde“.

„Evidence doesn’t mean exactly the same in a historical-philological investigation as in a court of law, and isn’t evaluated in the same way. Reading between the lines is typically not permissible in court, whereas it is both sanctioned and often necessary for a historian (the important prerequisite being, to paraphrase C.S. Lewis, that you are able first to read the actual lines). So I don’t mind inferences as such; I think they are necessary. We just need to make sure that they are based on all the available evidence, impartially weighed, and not unduly influenced by personal preferences. –
Beweise haben in einer historisch-philologischen Untersuchung nicht dieselbe Bedeutung wie vor Gericht und werden auch nicht auf dieselbe Weise bewertet. Zwischen den Zeilen zu lesen ist vor Gericht in der Regel nicht erlaubt, während es für einen Historiker sowohl erlaubt als auch oft notwendig ist (die wichtige Voraussetzung ist, um C.S. Lewis zu paraphrasieren, dass man zuerst in der Lage ist, die eigentlichen Zeilen zu lesen). Ich habe also nichts gegen Schlussfolgerungen als solche; ich denke, sie sind notwendig. Wir müssen nur sicherstellen, dass sie auf allen verfügbaren Beweisen beruhen, unparteiisch abgewogen werden und nicht übermäßig von persönlichen Vorlieben beeinflusst sind.“
